- Are pets allowed at Royal Oaks?
Residents may not have pets. However, pet therapy is provided in the health care center.
- Is Royal Oaks religiously affiliated?
No, Royal Oaks is not religiously affiliated.
- Should I cancel my Long Term Care insurance policy after I move into Royal Oaks?
We cannot recommend that you cancel your policy. However, many residents cancel their policy due to the services they are entitled to receive at Royal Oaks.
- Do I pay more when I move to the assisted living or health care center?
No. With your Lifecare contract, you continue to pay your same monthly fee. The only extra cost would be meals—one in assisted living and two in the health care center.
- What happens if I want to downsize my living unit?
The entrance fee is not refunded and an additional transfer fee is charged. The monthly service fee would drop down to the smaller unit.
- What kind of refund do you offer if I want to move out?
If a resident were to move out of the community, Royal Oaks retains 10% of the initial entrance fee plus 1% per month (up to 7 ½ years) the resident lived at Royal Oaks. After 7 ½ years there is no refund. If a resident expires at Royal Oaks, there is no refund.
- How long is your wait list
We have one and two-bedroom units available now in some of our floor plans. For other floor plans, the wait list is 1-2 years. An option is to come into Royal Oaks in your second favorite unit and then transfer to your favorite unit when it is available. The internal wait list takes priority over the external wait list.
- If I'm not ready to move in when you call me does my name go to the bottom of the Wait List?
No. Your name stays at the top of the list and we will continue to call you however often you desire.
- When I move to Assisted Living, do I move into an apartment or a room?
Couples may move into a two bedroom apartment and singles will move into a one bedroom apartment.
- If my spouse expires, do I have to downsize my unit?
No. The resident has independent lifetime use of the unit.
