“Build it and it will win” and “Cook it and they will come.” Those appear to be the mantras that resulted in Royal Oaks winning two prestigious awards recently.
Who said that retirement communities don’t serve award-winning food?!! In April at the Taste of Surprise food event, Royal Oaks not only got second highest votes by the people for our Korean Beef and Udon noodles, we received an award for Best Presentation. Francelle, our sous chef (center, pictured with Food Service Director Mark Schroeder and Marketing Director Vicki Ullery) was the creator of this delicious, crowd-pleasing dish. We were happy to to be a part of this Rotary Club-sponsored event, where all the proceeds go to local charities!
In May, Leading Age Arizona, at the annual conference, awarded the annual Innovation Award to our Smart Apartment. You can read about this voice-activated Mesquite apartment and also watch the 3-minute video that was shown during the awards luncheon.
