What is it about Royal Oaks that has seniors flocking to our exclusive address? Is it because we’re conveniently located near Phoenix in the desirable town of Sun City? Is it because of our 50+ lush acres featuring a myriad of plants, trees and rose gardens? Is it because of our continued focus on innovation that has resulted in state-of-the-art communal and private areas?
“I like to think that seniors are retiring to Royal Oaks because they’re excited to see the world a little differently,” says Vicki Ullery, Marketing and Community Relations Director of Royal Oaks, an established Life Plan Community in Sun City, AZ. “Being in a community that offers all levels of living and a vibrant approach to aging is exciting and makes retirement a true adventure.”
There are many reasons why people are choosing our Life Plan Community for this chapter of their lives. Here are just some of them.
It’s a Community of Friends
When you choose to live at Royal Oaks, you’ll find that you’re welcome to get “in the groove” right away. Everyone here is eager and ready to become your friend, and you’ll be invited to join in life here instantaneously. Whether it’s someone inviting you to a meal, asking you to come to yoga class or encouraging participation in one or more of our volunteer activities, Royal Oaks residents embrace new friendships. Sign up for a lecture or class through Learning Tree, our lifelong, on-campus “university,” and you’ll enrich your mind and grow new friends!
It’s Focused on Wellness at All Levels
Aging well means staying focused on full-body wellness, no matter how old we get. At Royal Oaks, we promote senior health and wellness through a variety of fitness programs in our Evergreen Fitness Center. We also offer a drop-in Wellness Center that allows residents to have regular health assessments, receive preventative care such as immunizations and other clinical procedures.
There’s Always Something to Do
Every day, you’ll find a wide variety of activities and events. Pick up an old hobby or start a new one – it’s your choice! Immerse yourself in learning opportunities, enjoy everything from crafts and musical enrichment to intriguing lectures on world events and discussion groups on health topics. Take a class in our woodshop, linger in our large Gallery – it’s all here, and all available right outside your door.
The Food Is to Dine For
The senior living dining experience is one of the most important aspects of life at Royal Oaks. Our philosophy is to provide proper nutrition for seniors through healthy, flavorful food in an elegant environment that is conducive to stimulating appetites and conversation. We understand that socializing with friends over a delicious meal is the highlight of the day for many people – and every meal at Royal Oaks is an event. Our central senior living dining room, The Oak Room, offers elegant dining with dozens of choices, along with delicious daily specials and a full salad bar. Continuous dining allows you to decide when you would like to eat each day, and seating is open so you can dine alone or in the company of friends.
Volunteering Is in Our DNA
Royal Oaks residents come from all walks of life with an amazing variety of experiences and backgrounds, and volunteer countless hours throughout the year. For them, retirement doesn’t mean stopping and slowing down; on the contrary, this stage of life is a chance to find creative and engaging ways to sharpen their minds and contribute in meaningful ways to the community.
In addition to participating in Royal Oaks’ volunteer programs, many of our residents also offer their time and talents in the surrounding community at local hospitals, hospices, food banks, thrift shops, churches and community centers.
Everything You Need, Right On Campus
As if our senior living amenities and life-enrichment programs weren’t enough, our retirement community offers a variety of services all in one central location. Right off the lobby is a chapel, a technology hub, and a boutique where residents are sure to find a trinket or two for a gift or themselves. Need to get your hair done? We have three beauty salons offering hair and nail services for men and ladies. And all the benefits of the greater community aren’t far from your front door – with seven recreation centers, eight golf courses and more than 120 chartered clubs, there’s something for everyone retiring in Sun City!
